April to May and October to November tend to be the best times to visit Tucson as the weather is often ideal – not too hot or cold. Plus, as it is shoulder season prices tend to be more affordable.

We visited in late March and it was lovely – warm and sunny in the afternoons and cool in the evening.

How far is Tucson from Phoenix?

Tucson is just under two hours from Phoenix. As the Phoenix airport is much larger than Tucson’s airport, it might make sense to fly into Phoenix.

We found flights to Phoenix were substantially less expensive and since we needed to rent a car anyway, it made sense to drive the two hours.
