Delicious “healthier” holiday drinks!

New Years Eve is just a few days away!  However you celebrate it, it’s nice to have a few fun, festive “healthier” drinks on hand.  So today I’m sharing one of my favorites – both the loaded and tame version!  It is made with “real” ingredients – no fake sweeteners or mixes here!  Enjoy and if you do indulge, please drink responsibly.

For the night of . . .

Fizzy and Fruity – serves 2

1 and 1/2 c. Proseco (Champagne would work also)

1 and 1/2 c. pomegranate juice

1/2 c. berry vodka

orange slice to garnish

Mix and enjoy.  To make this a mocktail, simply increase the pomegranate juice to 2 cups, eliminate the vodka and add 2 cups of sparkling grape juice (there are some nice organic versions out there these days).

And an extra idea – along with whatever you are serving, make up a few pitchers of flavored waters.  They are very pretty and will encourage you (and any guests you have) to increase your water intake and therefore decrease the alcohol which is better for you all!

Citrus Water – makes a pitcher

Fill a pitcher with filtered water, then add half a lemon and half a lime sliced.  An orange would also be pretty and delicious!

Cucumber Water – makes a pitcher

Fill a pitcher with filtered water, than add half a sliced cucumber and bunch of ice.
