Need something fun, active and inexpensive to do this fall? Here is a great activity to get your kids (and you) moving! Geocaching.
I love to hike, but I’ve found that my kids find it a bit, well, boring. Enter geocaching. We were introduced to this fun activity by our good friends last year while on Spring Break. It gives the kids a little something to search for while hiking. There is an app you can buy for your smart phone (just search geocaching on your app store) that gives you the location of various caches stored around the world. The app is a bit pricey for one outing (it’s $9.99 according to the website), but if you use it over and over it will quickly pay for itself in fun experiences!
When you find a cache, open it up and sign the datebook, then take a small trinket and leave one. Things that you’d get in a gumball machine are good trinkets to leave.
If you haven’t tried this fun activity yet, I encourage you to give it a go – if your kids are anything like mine, they will LOVE the idea of a “treasure hunt,” and you can enjoy some of beautiful fall days outdoors as a family!
