Last Day in Vegas
More fun things to do in Vegas? You’ve got it! It’s hard to believe this trip is almost over. Time certainly flies when you are having fun! To start the day off on a light note, we decided to create a challenge. This isn’t new for us, but the rules do change every year as we think up new ideas.
This year, we started at the Cosmopolitan and worked our way up to Excaliber. We each had $20 to gamble at every casino and either spent it until we won or lost as much as we were comfortable with losing. Then we met back up and compared notes. The winner for that round (casino) got 1 point, second place 2 points, and so on. At the end of the walk, we compared scores for the winner. The winner got bragging rights the rest of the day.
These challenges are a fun way to do something a little different in the casinos – and helps your money go further! It’s fun too – we are all competitive and like to win. Do you ever create challenges like this when traveling? What do you do?
Late afternoon, my friend and I went to see Menopause the Musical. It was hilarious and the theater at Harrah’s was a great place to see it – small and so any seat was great. The boys spent their time watching baseball in the sports book. For some reason, they weren’t interested in seeing this show …
We ended the day with a bit more gambling and wandering the strip. Then, at about 10:00 it started raining! I’m not sure I’ve ever been to Vegas in the summer when it rained – it was a little bit crazy and a fun way to end the trip.
If you’ve been to Vegas, what is your favorite memory? If you haven’t been, what would you like to do there?

I definitely need to see the Cirque du Soleil shows!! And gamble. Husband and I hope to take a couples trip to Vegas soon!
Hmmm….I got married in Vegas, so I guess we can say that was my favorite Vegas memory! Lol
I also have a memory when i was super young sitting on my dad’s shoulders and watching the pirate show at Treasure Island! ❤️
That’s a pretty good memory!! Hard to beat getting married there.
The challenge idea is really fun! I’ve been to Las Vegas many times, mostly for work. One time (pre-kids) my husband and I ended up in Vegas for work at the same time…unprecedented! We had a lot of fun. He’s more of a gambler than me, but we did see the Blue Man Group, which was really fun.
I love Blue Man Group – we just saw it in Chicago with the kids. Very fun. The challenge is fun – a good way to mix things up if you’ve been there a few days.
Love Vegas! I haven’t been recently but want to go back. I can’t believe it rained! That’s something I never dreamed of happening in Vegas
Katie, I know – we were there one other time when it rained but it was November. Never have we seen rain in the summer like this.
What a fun way to end a trip. Play, gambling, ‘singing in the rain.” Sounds like a great trip
Yes, it really was a fun way to end the trip – and we did go out and get a bit wet because it was so unusual.
I love Vegas and your adventure there looks like so much fun. I need to see that musical! That looks like fun!
It was fun AND funny – my favorite kind of show.
We love going to see the shows in Vegas. Cirque is one of my favorites.
Janine, we actually haven’t seen a Cirque show yet …
My favorite memory of Vegas is getting hitched to my husband (for the 3rd time) in the Little White Chapel. It was fun…and funny!
That sounds like quite a story!!!
My brother in law is a born and bred Vegas native! I’ve visited a time or two gut your posts have me me want to go again…right now!
Shirley, that’s perfect – take him with you to get the “real” Vegas insights.
The chiropractic college I graduated from has a seminar in Vegas every year. I typically attend every 2nd or 3rd year. Vegas is so much fun, even if you aren’t into gambling. We like hitting Serendipity for ice cream. =)
Yum! There are so many good ice cream and gelato shops. Sounds like the best way to do – keeps you busy learning during the day and you can still explore at night.
Sounds like a great time!
I do little contests with myself when in Vegas. Hubby loves to sit at the blackjack table and I love to see how long I can lay on $20 🙂
I love it! I’ll do that too sometimes.
My favorite memory of Las Vegas is being in line for Studio 54 Club at midnight for my 21st birthday with my parents and sister.
Wow – that is quite a memory! We have told our kids we will take them when they turn 21 if they want to go. My daughter is wavering between Vegas and Epcot!
