It’s fabulous for quick weekends and trips with the family as it offers free breakfast which will save you time in the morning and money for spending elsewhere on fun!

There is also a nice indoor pool for the kids and gorgeous views from some of the rooms. That pool comes in handy on cold winter days when you want to keep the kids occupied but don’t feel like leaving the property. We’ve stayed there many times and have often been lucky enough to get upgraded to a spacious suite with a full kitchen and fireplace (thanks to Diamond status!).

If you are visiting Petoskey as part of a ski trip to Boyne Mountain, then the Grand Mountain Lodge is the place you want to stay. There are so many things to do located right on site that it’s a perfect choice of lodging for families.

It’s at the base of Boyne Mountain and truly one of my favorite places – we love it so much we actually own a condo at the lodge. I’ve stayed here at all different times of the year and we never run out of things to do onsite.

Winter brings downhill skiing, a tubing hill, shopping in the nearby towns (like Petoskey) and so much more. In the summer there is hiking, disc golf on the mountain, biking, a nearby lake, and games on the lawn. There is even a connected indoor waterpark!

A fun spring through fall activity is to spend the day on one of the many golf courses – there are two actually onsite that incorporate the ski mountain – fun! After playing all day, you can head back to the lodge, eat dinner on the property (even enjoy a free s’more on the back lawn) and walk right back to your room.

It takes about 20 minutes to get to Petoskey from the Grand Mountain Lodge, but it’s an easy drive, so it’s definitely a great option.
