Whether you’re a Thai food veteran or new to the game, Thai Thara’s menu has something that’ll hit the spot.

If you find yourself in Richmond and are in the mood for some seriously good Thai food, Thai Thara is the place to go. It’s casual, it’s comfy, and the food is legit amazing. The staff are down-to-earth and genuinely happy to share their love for beer with you. You can even grab a delicious sandwich at the Italian deli sharing the building.

The first place we always stop in a new town is the local coffee shop. So, of course on all of our visits to Richmond, we’ve always headed directly to Roscoe’s! Not only is the coffee yummy, but the location is quirky and cool. When you enter, head left for the coffee bar, and then if you move on further into the restaurant you’ll find the tap room.

Coffee and beer? Sounds perfect to me. Although we enjoyed a sandwich and beer on one of our visits (and both were excellent) if we are spending the day in Richmond, we typically just order coffee and a pastry or bagel.

There is tons of space in the restaurant, and I’ve even brought along my computer and gotten a little work done before – it’s a great place for that or for meeting friends. Without a doubt, Roscoe’s is a Richmond staple – ask anyone from the city where to go for coffee and I bet the answer will be Roscoe’s!

5 Arch Brewing Company was such a wonderful find on our most recent visit to Richmond. Just a few miles off the interstate in nearby Centerville, IN it is a place I know we’ll stop in whenever we head to Dayton or Columbus, Ohio for soccer games!

Our recent visit there was nothing short of delightful, especially with seats right at the bar, where we got to soak in the bustling atmosphere and engage with the friendly staff. This brewery, with its cozy yet lively vibe, serves as a beacon for those seeking quality brews and tasty eats in a welcoming environment.

The range of beers on tap at 5 Arch Brewing Co. is impressive, showcasing a variety of styles, and they had a full bar too with mixed drinks and plenty of wine choices. What stood out to us, beyond the excellent beer, was the food. The menu is thoughtfully curated to complement their beers, with each dish bringing something unique to the table. Eating at the bar, we enjoyed the casual yet intimate setting, perfect for savoring their offerings while chatting about the nuances of each brew.

As one of the larger cities along I-70 heading to Ohio, there are quite a few excellent chains on the highway. I’d vote for one of the newer ones such as the Home2Suites by Hilton or the highly-rated Comfort Suites.
