Best Restaurants in Boyne City Michigan

The Best Boyne City Restaurants

We’ve been heading up to northern Michigan for a dozen years or so every winter to ski with the family. Aside from skiing, we also love to visit our favorite restaurants and towns in the area. A few years ago I shared our favorite apres ski places (and these are STILL favorites, so check them out too), and I figured it was time for an update.

On to what we consider the best Boyne City Restaurants …

Lake Street Pub

It had been years since we’ve visited Lake Street Pub, but this year we decided to give it another go. On our December trip, we tried carryout and man were we impressed. The burger and loaded fries my son and I split were amazing. We ended up dipping the chips that came with the burger into their beer cheese sauce and that was quite tasty too. Everything was packed up nicely and easily transported to our condo.

During our February ski trip, my daughter and I decided to try eating in one of the igloos on site. It was perfect! Our igloo sat in the sun which warmed it up nicely, and it felt very safe and private. Unless they were actually delivering food, the servers stayed outside and just spoke to us through the igloo. We split a side salad (huge) and an order of mac and cheese with broccoli. Both were wonderful!

So after two great visits, Lake Street Pub has been added to our must-visit list!

Stiggs

Stiggs Brewery & Kitchen is a favorite stop when we just want a great beer and an appetizer or if we are dining with friends. The menu has a little something for everyone.

With tons of beers on tap (around 30) along with several of their own beers brewed on-site, it’s easy to find something to enjoy. Flights are fun too! The food includes all of your brewery standards bumped up a notch. We always get an order or two of fries with the fuggle and/or house rub. Yum!

Although I love the feel of Stiggs inside (it’s located in an old building built in 1899), this year they’ve added igloos to the dining options. There is a booking fee for the igloos and you can stay in your igloo for an hour and 50 minutes, so that’s something to keep in mind. They can also book out quickly during the busy ski season.

Lake Charlevoix Coffee Company

Anyone who knows us, knows we love a good coffee shop. We search out the local shops on every trip we take. So of course, we enjoyed checking out Lake Charlevoix Coffee Company Although this shop has been open for 5 years, 2021 was the first year we discovered it. Typically we head over to Petoskey for coffee or just make it in our room, but since we were visiting on #WorldBaristaDay it just made sense to finally check it out.

Well, I’m in love. The atmosphere is phenomenal. It’s huge, with several wonderful places to set up shop on days I have to work (which often happens when we travel). The feeling is eclectic and comfortable. Plus, the coffee is delicious.

As I alluded to earlier, there are several more FANTASTIC restaurants in Boyne City – in fact one of them we visit every year without fail – so if you want more choices, check them out in this blog post: Best Places to Fuel Up after Skiing at Boyne. If you live in or visit the area, I’d love to hear about your favorite place to eat. We have our favorites but are always open for something new!
