When we visit Walt Disney World, we’ve found that the best way to enjoy our time at the park is to pause in the middle of the day for a leisurely table service meal. It gives us a chance to rest and regroup. If it’s hot we can cool off, and we don’t have to worry about anyone getting hangry. We’ve tried almost every restaurant, so here are what we consider the best table service restaurant at each Walt Disney World Park.

The Magic Kingdom

I used to think there wasn’t anything good to eat at the Magic Kingdom, but with a bit of experimenting, I have changed my tune. It started when we took an afternoon break at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant with a fresh salad and wine. Then we discovered we could watch the parade from the patio. Magic Kingdom food started to feel quite a bit better!

Last year, however, we discovered one of our favorite overall Disney restaurants and it’s IN the Magic Kingdom. The Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen. The place is a little bit hidden in Adventureland, but it’s quite near the Jungle Cruise and The Swiss Family Robinson.

The decor is similar in feel to the old Adventurer’s Club (anyone remember that?), and the staff is well versed in hokey jokes and one-liners. The first time we enjoyed dinner there, our server was outstanding and it definitely made for a much more memorable meal. The other times they’ve been fine, just not quite as much fun. Remember though that the more you interact with and appreciate your server’s antics, the more fun you’ll have!

Everything we’ve had there has been delicious and the servings are quite large. My personal favorite is one I split with my daughter, the Perkins Thai Noodles. We order it with tofu instead of chicken, and it’s plenty of food for the two of us. If you are looking for a fun and relaxing break from the craziness of the Magic Kingdom, you can’t go wrong at this place.

Insider Tip: Try eating a little bit before or after the typical mealtime to enjoy a less busy atmosphere and less of a wait.

Epcot

There are a LOT of great restaurants at Epcot but it’s actually not hard for me to pick a favorite. My entire family agrees that if we have one meal to eat at Epcot it’s going to be at the Tutto Gusto Wine Celler. The Wine Celler is connected to the Tutto Italia Ristorante in Italy in the world showcase, but it has a separate entrance and a completely different feel. It’s not large, but since it’s primarily a wine bar, many people overlook it. What a mistake.

The atmosphere is cozy and rustic, the wine is delightful (try a flight) and the food is fantastic. My husband has had the BEST lasagne of his life here. My daughter and I love the risotto (which isn’t always on the menu) and the paninis, charcuterie, and gnocchi are all absolute perfection.

Animal Kingdom

Although we love Tiffin’s for a special occasion, the place we visit most often in Animal Kingdom is Yak & Yeti. Yak & Yeti is located in Asia, and it can get pretty busy, so either make a reservation, eat at an odd time, or use my insider tip listed below!

The food at Yak & Yeti is a fun mixture of pan-Asian and Nepalese-style food. Portions are quite large, so sharing is definitely doable if you have smaller appetites. I haven’t tried anything there I didn’t love, but my personal favorite is the Ahi Tuna Nachos. There is so much flavor in this dish, and it’s very light and fresh which is perfect on a hot day!

The drinks are fun and they offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions so everyone can enjoy something special with their meal. The only thing I haven’t tried is the desserts – we’ve always been too full to give them a try!

Insider tip: Yak & Yeti is actually owned by Landry’s Restaurant Group and if you join the Landry’s Select Club for $25 you’ll get a $25 credit during your birthday month as well as $25 for your next meal when you sign up. You ALSO get to go to the front of the line when you put your name in. We’ve often walked in when there was over an hour wait time and been seated within fifteen minutes. When you are hot and hungry, this is a perk that is much appreciated!

Hollywood Studios

This is the park I struggle a bit with for a table service meal. There are several GOOD restaurants but none that I consider GREAT. We’ve tried them all and honestly, our favorites tend to the be the bars – but I’ll save that for another post.

If I have to pick the best restaurant at Hollywood Studios, I’ll pick the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. The food is fine – nothing special, but there is a decent variety and everyone will be able to find something they enjoy. What makes Sci-Fi my favorite stop is the atmosphere. It’s just so much fun. You’ll either get to sit in the back of an old-time car or at a picnic table along the wall. While you are eating, old science fiction movies are playing on a big movie screen. Kids especially love this place.
